Who are we?
All at Blackpool Gateway Academy are in pursuit of educational excellence. We endeavour to work together with parents, governors and the local community to provide high quality care and education through continuous improvement. Encouraging all children to enjoy learning, develop their best potential and show mutual respect for one another. We promote independence and hope that all our pupils become ‘life-long learners’.
Blackpool Gateway Academy is in Bloomfield Ward, close to Blackpool Football Club, adjacent to Seasider’s Way. It is a two form entry school that is growing year on year, currently with 344 pupils (2 classes in each year group up to Year 5) catering for pupils from 3-11 years. From January 2018 we have successfully opened our brand new nursery which can cater to 26 pupils per session.
The school is a 21st century learning environment with the latest IT in all classrooms. It has a dedicated foundation stage with outdoor learning. Outside there are extensive grounds with a junior sized football pitch and newly installed play equipment.
In September 2016 the school joined Fylde Coast Academy Trust and embraces the Trust’s core values of Pride, Resilience, Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Ambition. There are a number of advantages of working with a cluster of schools within a multi academy trust.
- Sharing best practice between schools.
- Economic advantages, such as centralised services and the ability to focus funds where they are needed.
- Increased and flexible staffing resources.
- The possibility of establishing succession planning programmes for staff, and thereby retaining good staff who may otherwise have moved on.
