Coronavirus Public Information

We would like to reassure all our students, our staff and the wider community that the trust continues to closely monitor guidance in relation to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.  Currently, the UK government is continuing to say that schools and colleges should remain open. Following the advice received, we have taken a number of key actions to help keep our community safe.  These include putting in place extra cleaning, installing more hand sanitisers and briefing students and staff about the importance of good personal hygiene.

On 17th March 2020 The Department of Health issued new advice on what to do if you have symptoms:

Staff, young people and children should stay at home if they are unwell with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature to avoid spreading infection to others.

If you live alone and you have symptoms of coronavirus illness (COVID-19), however mild, stay at home for 7 days from when your symptoms started. This will help to protect others in your community while you are infectious.

if you live with others and you or one of them have symptoms of coronavirus, then all household members must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. The 14-day period starts from the day when the first person in the house became ill.

You only need to use the NHS 111 online service if your symptoms become difficult to cope with, get worse or do not go after seven days. In an emergency (life-threatening) situation, dial 999

wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds, each time using soap and water, or use hand sanitiser

Please be reassured that we continue to regularly plan for all eventualities using the latest government and public health advice. The school will keep parents / carers advised of any changes to the advice that may impact upon the day to day operation of that school. The health, safety and wellbeing of our students and staff continues to be our key focus.
